In deze rede, uitgesproken bij de aanvaarding van het ambt van hoogleraar Organisatiestudies en Organisatieverandering aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam op 26 april 2000, behandelt prof.dr. J. Strikwerda het thema van intern organisatiebestuur in de nieuwe economie. Wat zijn de effecten van de nieuwe economie op management en organisatie? Strikwerda gaat uitgebreid in op de betekenis en effecten van de ‘nieuwe’ economie, op de effecten van moderne ICT op het economisch proces en op de disembodiment (‘losmaking’) van kennis van materiële instrumenten.
In april, 2000, Prof.dr. J. Strikwerda accepted the appointment as Professor of Organizational Studies and Organizational Change at the University of Amsterdam. In his address he discussed the theme of internal governance in the new economy. What effects will the new economy have on management and organization? Strikwerda extensively discusses the meaning of the “new economy” (does it exist?), the effects of modern ICT on the economic process, current opinions on management and organization, the effects of the new economy, and the disembodiment of knowledge from physical tools.
