Het IT-outsourcinglandschap blijft in beweging. Uit deze studie blijkt dat afnemers nog altijd vroegtijdig contracten beëindigen, zich afvragen wat de toegevoegde waarde is van onshore outsourcing en nog steeds worstelen met de basics van wat wel en niet uit te besteden, meting van de effectiviteit en het managen van een wereldwijde pool van resources. Desalniettemin verwachten afnemers van outsourcingservices in de toekomst nog meer activiteiten uit te besteden, hoewel de groei minder groot is dan de afgelopen jaren. India en de Verenigde Staten blijven de toplocaties voor outsourcingservices, China is sterker in opkomst dan ooit.
The IT outsourcing landscape continues to change. This study reveals that buyers are still prematurely terminating contracts, are questioning the value of onshore outsourcing and are still struggling with the basics of determining what to outsource, measuring effectiveness and managing a global pool of resources. Despite these challenges the amount of outsourcing buyers expect to do still is on the rise - albeit at a much slower pace than in years past. India and the U.S. remain the top locations for outsourcing services; however, China is growing more rapidly than ever before.
